About Us:
Dr. Martin Luther KIng Jr.
VISION STATEMENT Education is a key and critical component to combatting the challenges that this life presents. The program will consist of an out of school program that focuses on the three A's BTGCO believes if this change is going to happen, it will begin in the communities that are most affected. This is why we exist to create cohesion and not competition with organizations with similar missions. Our goal is to assist in bringing about the much needed change through cooperation and collaboration with those organizations. Our staff is comprised of some of the most educated and experienced personnel who are willing to get involved and accomplish our mission “to bring it about that many should be kept alive”. Project R.O.B. Conferences/Workshops/Crusades Project R.O.B. Conferences/Workshops/Crusades In the Spring of 2009, we will initiate this movement. WHO ARE WE
Bridging the Gap Community Organizers (BTGCO) is a pending 501(C) (3) organization that started as Bridging the Gap Ministries in 2004. Bridging the Gap Ministries was first organized in Dalton, GA as a church that grew spiritually, holistically, and numerically. The ministry later evolved into a community based organization that is church centered to facilitate the connection between the church and the community. The founding members envisioned the integration of the church into the community, thus bridging the gap of communication between the two entities.
BTGCO began serving the community through outreach events spearheaded by CEO and founder, James H. Kirklin, II. One example is the annual “Praise in the Park” event in Dalton, GA. BTGCO is also the parent organization for Come As You Are (C.A.Y.A.) Praise. C.A.Y.A. Praise is an evangelistic outreach service held in conjunction with Bridging the Gap crusades. Using the solid principles of biblical truths and the foundation of the Word of God, C.A.Y.A. Praise seeks to provide the kind of preaching, teaching, and counseling to affect the kind of change in the community that will pay future dividends.
BTGCO is seeking to specifically address the existing epidemic affecting young black males all over the United States today. This is being accomplished through BTGCO's ongoing Project Reclaiming Our Boys (Project R.O.B.) initiative. Project R.O.B. seeks to provide an alternative to the detrimental mindsets and lifestyles that leads young black males and their families down the path of destruction. The ultimate goal is to develop and create tangible facilities that offer pre-Kindergarten and out of school programs that provide an environment for growth in the areas of academics, the arts, and athletics. BTGCO envisions Project R.O.B. as a nationally program that is reproducible in every inner city.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
The BTGCO organization believes that as a Christ centered, bible believing, and Holy Spirit empowered body, we are able to carry out the mandate to improve the lives of the depressed and oppressed through love, teaching, and meeting needs. We seek to make a difference in the lives of those who are viewed as the least of society and all who would receive the engrafted Word of God. We expect to meet this challenge by sharing and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ, teaching the inerrant and infallible principles of His word, and empowering the believers to change their circumstances.
Through our Project R.O.B. initiative, we are targeting one of the most endangered and troubled sectors of society, young African American males. The effects of what is and has been happening to this demographic is literally affecting generations of African Americans. Single motherhood, the proliferation of drug abuse and drug dealing, the high rate of high school dropouts, the high rate of homicides, and the high rate of illiteracy among this group has been the ignored for too long. We believe we can not ignore the problem any longer because it is affecting all of society, financially and socially. BTGCO has formulated a plan to address these problems at the root, which we believe to be an attitude of hopelessness and defeatism.
Project R.O.B. seeks to assist school systems in providing a quality education for all young people.

WHY WE EXIST
The most essential reason for why BTGCO was established is based in the book of Genesis, chapter 50, verse 20 which says, “to bring it about that many people should be kept alive” (ESV). We seek to fulfill the great commission through meeting the immediate as well as the spiritual needs of the less fortunate. We are determined to carry out this endeavor by developing facilities that offer the kind of environment that fosters real and tangible personal growth.
Our plan is to offer programs that focus in the areas of academics, the arts, and athletics. These facilities will also provide Pre-Kindergarten and out of school programs, a GED program, a support system for single mothers, as well as tutorial programs, mentorship programs, and comprehensive bible studies. We believe that when the basic human needs are satisfied, it facilitates the path to spiritual development. And it is through spiritual growth that is one is able to overcome and sustain a productive life.
BTGCO holds that this holistic and comprehensive approach to ministry will effect real change in our communities. The development of a positive attitude and outlook will result in a positive future for our youth and society as a whole. We believe this approach will effectively reduce the rate of high school dropouts, single motherhood, crime, and poverty. We also believe this approach will bring hope, expectation, and the right perspective to the lives of those served.
We will partner with local churches and civic organizations to meet the challenges of this endeavor. Be a part of the movement and the solution! Help save our sons!
